My name is Krista Olafsen. I am a costume designer, wardrobe stylist, and hair and makeup artist.
I have been working in the theater since I was a teenager, doing costuming, hair and makeup, and generally hamming it up. After graduation from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television I went on to work in film, building costumes and wardrobes for a myriad of wonderful crews. After living and loving the film world, it became clear to me that my true passion was working one on one with clients to create their ideal character, and so I opened Krista O Designs. The concept began as a way to channel my passion for costuming, and has since grown into a wonderful mix of history, fantasy, and teamwork that I never would have suspected.

About the Owner
We build ready to wear and made to order garments for clients looking for something different. Our creations are one of a kind pieces that won't be found elsewhere. The inspiration for these garments is often historical, and we use a variety of historical construction techniques to make a long lasting and beautifully finished pieces.
Our made to order garments range from bridal gowns to historical reenactment garments to club wear. If you can dream it up, we can create it! Please contact us with your idea, and we'll get working! Our process for custom garments is simple. Once we receive your design idea, we will follow up with sketches for your approval. Once we've settled on a final design, we create a mock-up garment for you to fit. That garment will either be fit in-house, or sent to you with detailed instructions for home fittings. Once the mock-up is fit, we can create the final garment. There will be one final fitting to ensure that everything looks great, and then the costume is yours.
Everything that comes out of Krista O Designs is made in-house in west Los Angeles. We do our best to source our items ethically and responsibly.
